Hair Growth -
The Procedure

By combining Radiofrequency Microneedling with the targeted application of Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) on the hairy scalp, the delicate hair roots can be stimulated, promoting hair growth. Especially when used in conjunction with the active ingredient Minoxidil, scientific studies have demonstrated that a combination therapy resulted in renewed hair growth in over 90% of the participants, leading to thicker and denser hair.

Through targeted microperforations of the skin (needling) and the delivery of a precisely measured radiofrequency impulse into the tissue, a stimulus is created that encourages the formation of the skin's own collagen structures and stimulates hair follicles. Simultaneously, when PRP is applied during the treatment, growth factors and platelets can penetrate the scalp through the microperforations created during needling, further stimulating the hair roots.

Background

Up to 80% of men and 40% of women with thinning hair suffer from hereditary hair loss, the most common type of hair loss. The cause of this type of hair loss is an oversensitivity of the hair follicles to the hormone dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a breakdown product of the male hormone testosterone, which is also present in the female body. The action of DHT leads to the shrinking of hair follicles, resulting in reduced hair production. Estrogen, the female sex hormone, protects hair follicles from this negative influence. When estrogen levels drop in the blood, for example, during menopause, women can also experience this type of hair loss. Women develop thinning hair, while men can experience complete baldness.

These changes typically begin between the ages of 30 to 40, especially in men, but they can also be observed in men as early as around the age of 20. In all cases, early initiation of therapy is essential, as regrowth of hair on completely bald areas can only be partially achieved.
Treatment Process

In a comprehensive consultation, we will first capture your wishes and expectations together. Following that, a detailed analysis of your current hair condition will take place, and the findings will be documented. Once all questions are clarified, we will extract a small amount of blood (20-40 ml) from a vein, which will then be processed in the laboratory of our practice. The scalp in the treatment area will be cleaned and disinfected, and a locally anesthetic cream will be applied before the procedure. The treatment itself lasts between 30 and 90 minutes, depending on the extent. To conclude, a cooling and soothing mask will be applied. After this, you can leave the practice. Post-treatment, the skin may feel tight and is often slightly red. The effect is comparable to a sunburn and typically subsides quickly.

You will begin to see initial effects of the treatment after a few weeks, but the maximum impact is based on stimulating hair regrowth. Therefore, a continuous improvement in hair density and structure can be observed over several months. For the initial application of the procedure, at least three, ideally five, individual sessions at intervals of 6 to 8 weeks should be planned for an optimal result. The effect of a hair growth treatment typically lasts about 12 months on average, but it depends on various individual factors. A follow-up treatment after the initial series should be done as needed, but no later than one year. Additionally, a permanent treatment with Minoxidil is recommended.

Before and After the Treatment

Before the Treatment
Prior to the treatment, your written consent is required, as with any medical procedure, after all questions have been thoroughly addressed. This includes clarifying whether there are any conditions that might prevent an RF-Needling treatment. For example, the presence of a pacemaker or other electronic or metallic implants in the treatment area could be contraindications. The use of blood thinners, higher-dose cortisone treatments, or certain skin conditions can also pose contraindications. Please inform me during our personal conversation. Ideally, on the day of the treatment, refrain from using hair styling products so that the skin can be disinfected and applications can be performed under optimal hygienic conditions.

After the Treatment
Following a hair growth treatment, avoid sunbathing, tanning beds, or sauna visits for 24 hours. Additionally, as is always advisable for vital and firm skin, good sun protection is recommended. Consider wearing a hat, for example. Due to possible skin irritations and minor bruises, avoid scheduling important appointments for the two to three days following a treatment, especially if your appearance needs to be at its best.

Reviews
This is what our patients say on Jameda
"Top Care! Very detailed and informative documents for body analysis! Informative and motivating conversation. The procedure was painless, well taken care of. Days after, no pain, already less hungry. I can only recommend this practice!"
"I was at the clinic for the second time today and felt very well taken care of again. I was thoroughly advised, and all my questions were answered very empathetically. I am (again) very, very satisfied with the results of the treatment."
"I came to Schuhmann Aesthetics through an acquaintance. I was very unhappy with my nose. Due to a nasal bone fracture in my youth, I have always had a slight bump. But I don't want surgery. The possibility with hyaluronic acid is simply amazing. My nose is so beautiful now. No bump is visible anymore. I was warmly welcomed, and I didn't have to wait long. The hygiene is flawless, as it should be, clean! Ultra-modern. Top, professional."
"Both the consultation and the stomach Botox treatment were very professional. I felt comfortable and well taken care of the entire time. I would do it again anytime and can highly recommend the practice. I can't say anything about the results yet, as the procedure was yesterday. Experience report will follow. However, I am very convinced that the success will come because the support does not end with the treatment. You are constantly accompanied in the weight loss process with additional appointments for weighing and measuring, as well as telephone consultations if you need general help. I am glad to have found such a practice and am looking forward to my new body and sense of life."

Special Treatments for Men

The most interesting application for our male patients is the treatment of genetically induced hair loss – men are significantly more affected than women. While wearing a bald head might be an option for men, women suffering from genetic hair loss are generally psychologically more affected than men. Both genders can benefit from timely hair growth treatments.

Expert tip

"Genetic hair loss can be slowed down or even stopped. Often, a beginning decline in hair can be observed as early as the age of 30. Initiating a preservative treatment early is essential, as fully bald spots can only be partially reactivated."
